Flashback Friday

This is a trip my parents took our young women’s group at church on around when I was in Jr. High. I don’t remember a lot about the trip but I wanted to put it in my journal for the simple reason that around 4th grade

I started feeling like I was fat and very unattractive.

I look at pictures like this and realize how wrong I was! How could my perspective be soooo off??!! I mean I wasn’t a stick or gorgeous but I still don’t look like how I remember myself. Perspective is a powerful thing. I hope with all my heart that I have helped my children have a healthy perspective about their looks and life in general. I also hope that they have learned that how they treat others can affect how those people feel about themselves.
On the lighter side—dig those polyester shorts and mullet hairdo baby!! Have a great Friday!

Love this photo...I have some winners from my early days. it may be best to leave them where they are...at least until I finish one mess! I added a few photos and some more on the end of my today post. Hey, do YOU know where my garden tools are?'cuz no one in this house does!! my BIL did a building project here this summer and often things like this come up missing. Either they got put in with his stuff or a helpful kid broke something while they were helping and Uncle Rob got rid of the evidence. Have a great weekend. I think I found some spring!!

I remember thinking I was grossly overweight as a young mother, and I now look at those pictures and can clearly see that I was slender. If only I had appreciated it then!!

We are SO hard on ourselves!!! The little 4 yo I watch has size issues already, and 'plays' biggest looser during the day. Her 3 yo sis is following suit. Sad.
