Addendum

So as I am visiting with my daughter today (in the Costco parking lot) and we started talking about my post yesterday. (cuz my blog is just THAT awesome)

Kelly: So, what the hec do the people in Virginia care about a garage door on the ceiling?

Me: huh? Oooohhh.....don't you know about the story of the little girl, Virginia, who wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper to ask if there was a Santa Claus?

Kelly: Huh??!

I think it may be a generational thing (or another--Lisa is so weird thing) so I thought I would clear that up before I moved on with the story. The whole--"Yes, Virginia there is a garage door was meant to be a parody on THIS letter and story from 1897. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding. I love the people of Virginia ---enough said.

I'm trying to get caught up on everything I missed while I was gone. And I realized things are less confusing if you don't read the posts backwards....I started at this one and worked my way back...it got confusing lol and I had to try it again in the correct order. I'm feeling a little less confused now. Although at almost midnight...not much makes sense to me!

I understood exactly what you were talking about! Umpteen million years ago I bought a children's Christmas book that is this letter. The illustrations are amazing in the book. I'm anxious to hear the rest of the story!

I knew exactly what you were talking about!! Maybe we are getting old. No, we are just more informed on world matters. The others just can't keep up.

Glad you cleared that up, for the Virginians, AND the rest of us too:)
I didn't realize the story was that old, I do remember watching the movie every Christmas.
