I'm just spitballing--but I'm thinking gumdrops were her candy of choice...
And it also appears that Tae was stuck with the mother of all holiday bows again---poor child!

Don't know why I can't find any of Tae and Nat for this year---but Kelly's house was black again--I cannot believe that I missed this at the time---poor child was probably screamming out or attention or something--or maybe she just liked black......
Check out the windows on this baby--good thing he's so cute cuz he won't be making any money as an arcitecht (sp?) anytime soon......

oh my goodness, making gingerbread houses has never been a tradition in our home! I loved that you shared this! maybe, next year we will start.
Love all the pics. And another reminder that I need to gingerbread houses, and look for the gingerbread train baking pan I have somewhere....
Those pictures bring back so many memories. All of your kids had the yummy cheeks. Thanks for taking the time to scan those in. I don't see your mom in any of these pics. It must be your dad that loves the gingerbread houses. Perfect tradition!
That looks like fun!
I love this tradition of yours!! So much work and expense for candy! It was fun strolling down memory lane with you. Cindy
Your gingerbread house posts have inspired me so much that I actually did one this year! My first gingerbread house with the kids. I was so shocked when it actually WORKED!
Thanks for posting these threads and giving me the kick I needed to try this for myself. My kids are already thinking about how they want to do next years' house. Oy Vey!
What a fun tradition- and how fun to go back and look through all these! Your comments are cracking me up! You know, I don't know that I've ever seen a black gingerbread house, but I have to say, I really like the contrast effect it has on the candy- maybe she was crying out for help? Or maybe she's a future designer in the making??
You take really great pics! I LOVED this post! My hubby and I do that every year, although we almost always end up fighting because the stupid ginger bread houses never stick together. Hee hee.
Cindy Chaos--I have been to your blog and your house makes mine look like and outhouse!!! tee-hee
I am glad it inspired you but now we will come to your site for inspiration!
Onlymehere-yes--I think my Dad just keeps the leftovers in the freezer till next year--its considered a crime to even think about eating them around our house! And sometimes he just buys the little kits at costco which are fairly cheap. The kids don't care--
Laura--I love that the options are--crying out for help or a future designer--so close....and yet so far--
How wonderful! What a great tradition:)
Ha, I just posted about ours and I'm totally jealous of your gingerbread houses! Mine have stunk every year. Yours are incredible!!!
