The Ghosts of Gingerbread past....

It's been a great day for lurking and seeing all of your Christmas spirit--very inspiring!! Thanx for all the kind words--I feel so loved and missed--you guys are the best-

We had our family Thanksgiving on November 22 because Phil had to go back to Alaska on the 25th. Everyone was home--I cooked dinner--and then promptly got the flu. Didn't get even a bite of T-day yumminess until Monday. Big bummer. Kelly got it too--she didn't get to decorate a house either. But it was great to have everyone home--it's weird to look at all these photos from the past and realize that I'm already to the point in my life where my children are leaving the nest!!

Gingerbread 1989

The first Phil Bishop family gingerbread house. That is Taelor with my Dad's mom--Hazel Boyce--Grandma Hazee. Look at those yummy cheeks and concentration!

Grandpa Bob, Grandmas Hazee and Tae

1990 Sugar Cookies

More yummy cheeks and concentration--Phil and Natty

Tae---yes I had issues about the use of hair bows---leave me alone....

Sugar Cookies 1991

It appears that Tae was decorating and Nat was eating--look--no bows!!

More tomorrow--I know--I know--you can't wait---

Lisa these pictures are precious! Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad to come back from my blogcation and find you up and running here in your blog :-) I miss ya girl.

And hey, the hair bows are fine! I had a baby girl in the early 90's and you've got to have a hair bow, babe! You cannot NOT have hair bows! :-)

Love the pics. Sorry you were sick on Thanksgiving. That's the worst. And more coincidences we share - my Dad's mom's name was also Hazel. Taylor, Boo, Hazel...they just keep on coming.

What's wrong with hairbows? They look adorable. I'm so impressed you'd take on the Gingerbread House thing. I've wanted to but I'm too scared of the inevitable disaster that would ensue.

Hey what's wrong with hair bows?!!! My girls wore them all the time. The problem was when they were babies they still got called boys even with pink boys in their hair! LOL! Love the look back. You have such an adorable family!

so Lisa, or whoever else is watching/listening... I haven't been blogging that long and learning the in's and out's of it all. If you leave me a comment and I want to respond, do I respond as another comment on mine? do you know I have responded or do you look? I thought I was leaving a flag if my response was responded to, but I think I only get notice that my response was posted. oh, woes me!! the learning for an old dog!!
Thanks!!

Hey, whats wrong with bows??? (other than keeping them on???)

These are so sweet, how cool to have such a tradition documented! Sweet baby faces...

ok that'sfunny. I have a thing with hairbows too. I knew it was an issue with me but when I did my daughters Happy Birthday Post on the 1st of this month I added a bunch of pictures and I think 1 photo has her w/o a bow. And it's because she was barely up..still in her PJ's. No hair didn't stop me..that's what headbands are for. haha

do you think I should join a support group or something? ;)

Little girls must have bows. I get bombarded by my sis if mine goes bowless. So no teasing here.

Love all your Gingerbread memories! (Yes, I looked at them all!) It's so cool that you have such a longstanding tradition in your family!
