What were the Captain and Tennille thinking??!!

Like I said, I am behind on my posts. I had wanted to post this on Valentine’s Day, when my friend sent me this email.

One of these semi unattractive critters decided to come up from the irrigation canal by my friend's house—and stalk her home one day. If you knew this friend--that sentence alone would make you giggle. She doesn't even let dust bunnies do that.

At one point they had it trapped in a window well. Folks, meet that muskrat.

For those of you too young or with too much good taste—they wrote a song back in the 70’s (I think) called—“Muskrat Love”. It was a love song--- of all things. Just wanted to share—call it my Wednesday WHAT WERE THEY THINKING post.

But I loved that song Lisa. I don't know why. I am a 70's girl too. I don't like the creature though.

They were thinking, "Whoa, that last joint was, like, awesommmmme...let's write a song!"

Yeah, a rodent's a rodent's a rodent, even if they ARE named Muskrat Suzie and Muskrat Sam (I think; thankfully, through counseling and electroshock therapy I've blocked out the words to that song and the one about cake being left out in the rain.)

So, I don't remember the words to the song, but I'm pretty sure I remember the album cover, my parents had it.

I hate rodents! But for some reason I like America's version of that song. We're talking "Muskrat Love", right?

"Nibbling on bacon, chewing on cheese
Sam says to Suzie, Honey, would you please be my Mrs.
Suzie says yes with her kisses"

Now, that's romantic! :-)

" Muskrat Suzie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug out in Muskrat Land" great... the song will be in my head all day.
